WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

AN IDEA IS BORN AND TAKES SHAPE

The idea for Where Buffalo Wines began to germinate slowly over the past two years as my wife and I became more and more enamored with the wineries and wines of the Niagara Wine Trail.

She and I have extensive backgrounds in fine dining and other types of gourmet food service. We both enjoyed and appreciated the tremendous strides in quality and diversity that have been made by the winemakers and owners of the trail, especially in the last few years.

t struck me that if someone like myself, who is constantly on the lookout for decent wines, had been virtually unaware of the Niagara Wine Trail (NWT) until very recently; it must be even more difficult for the average wine drinker to stay abreast of these developments.

LAUNCHING THE FACEBOOK PAGE AND MORE

Near the end of June I started sort of a fan page for these wineries. Using a Facebook page with the same name as this website, I started to actively, and aggressively, get the word out. First with personal blogging about trail happenings, then re-posting anything of interest about the wineries that came my way; then moving on to helping out at various NWT events and even bottling wines on numerous occasions.

The next logical step was planning and creating our own unique wine-centered events. Our first official event was a collaboration with Chateau Niagara and Premier Gourmet called “Wine & Cheese by Sunset”.

The event was a big success and it has led to the planning of several more events involving other wineries. These upcoming events will be featured and publicized both here and on our “Where Buffalo Wines” Facebook page.
